The Sacral Alchemy of Menopause: Reclaiming Power in Midlife
Part 2 of the Flame Keeper Series
This is the second post in a three-part series about the Living Flame — the soul frequency that awakens in us during seasons of deep change. If you haven’t yet read Part 1: The Living Flame – Love, Loss, and the Frequency That Changed Everything, I encourage you to start there. This article continues the thread and invites you into the next phase of the journey.
When Bob passed away fifteen and a half years ago, I didn’t just lose my husband — I lost the life we had built together. That same month, I went into sudden menopause. It was as if my body, heart, and soul were all passing through a portal at the same time.
At first, I didn’t know how to make sense of it.
The physical symptoms were minimal — an occasional hot flash here or there — but something deeper was happening. And what I’ve come to believe is that because I shifted my perspective and began healing emotionally and energetically, the physical symptoms softened and eventually disappeared. I was able to move through this passage with clarity and very little physical discomfort.
Menopause, for me, was less about managing symptoms — and more about listening to what my body was asking of me. The discomfort that was showing up was simply trying to get my attention.
Menopause Isn’t Just Physical — It’s Energetic
I’m not a menopause expert, and I won’t pretend to speak from a medical standpoint. But I can share what I’ve felt and come to believe through my own experience.
Menopause marked the end of a cycle for me — not just of fertility, but of overextension, overidentification, and overriding my own needs.
What I see now is that menopause was more than a bodily change. It was a sacral alchemy.
A realignment of power.
A call back to the orange ray — the energetic frequency of the sacral chakra, where creativity, sensuality, emotional wisdom, and personal truth live.
It wasn’t an ending.
It was a shift — a reorientation of life force energy that had once moved outward, and now began to turn inward.
I started to ask myself questions I hadn’t been willing to face before:
-
What do I actually want?
-
What part of me have I been ignoring for years?
-
What’s ready to be released — and what’s waiting to be reborn?
What I’ve Learned (and Continue to Learn)
Here’s how I’ve come to understand the energetic invitation of menopause — not as a theory, but as something I live every day:
1. From Physical Creation to Soul Expression
My body may no longer be creating physical life, but my soul is expressing itself in ways it never did before.
This is when I began writing, speaking, mentoring, and creating offerings that feel aligned with who I truly am. The “productivity” that once defined me became purpose.
2. From Emotional Holding to Emotional Truth
So many of us have spent years managing emotions — ours and everyone else’s. Menopause stripped away that ability to keep it all buried. The grief, the rage, the beauty — it all came up.
But I wasn’t falling apart. I was becoming real.
3. From Surface Sensuality to Sacred Self-Connection
Menopause invited me to shift how I relate to my body and my pleasure. Instead of performance or expectation, I began exploring intimacy with myself — with slowness, presence, and curiosity. There’s wisdom in the body that only reveals itself when we stop rushing past it.
You Might Be Feeling This, Too
I meet so many women in midlife who feel a deep change stirring, but don’t always have language for it. They say things like:
-
“I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”
-
“I can’t go back to how things were.”
-
“Something is waking up in me, but I don’t know what to do with it.”
If that’s you, I want to say this clearly:
You are not fading.
You are firing up from the inside.
Menopause is not your descent — it’s your descent into the temple.
It’s the moment your body stops birthing others…
because it’s time to birth your frequency.”
You are changing because you’re becoming more of yourself.
Menopause isn’t just something to “get through.” It’s a sacred window.
And when you choose to honor that window — instead of rushing to fix or numb it — you create space for key codes of light to activate within you.
These are the soul codes that, as my late father once described to me in spirit, live in our DNA and turn on when we align with higher frequencies like truth, love, and purpose.
And the sacral center? That’s where so many of those codes reside.
You Are Meant to Feel This Flame
This part of your life isn’t a decline.
It’s an opening.
And it’s okay if you’re still finding your way through it.
I’m still walking it, too — but now with more compassion, more creativity, and more trust in what’s unfolding. And I’m passionate about supporting other women who are navigating their own midlife metamorphosis with grace and power.
Let’s Keep Walking Together
