Enjoy the remaining dog days of summer. Drink in the feeling of the heat on your body. Feel the deep connection to mother earth as you walk barefoot on the grass. Lie on your back and look up at the passing clouds as you did when you were a child, letting your imagine flow. Feast on the late summer harvest and indulge in an array of beautiful colours and tastes – blue, red, and purple berries, yellow and white sweet corn and plump, juicy tomatoes. Take a walk in the woods and listen to the whisper of the trees. What insight do they have to share with you today? Watch the butterflies dance from flower to bush. Smell the bouquet of fragrances of the late perennials and the annuals in their zenith. Sit by water, a lake, stream or babbling brook, perhaps. Listen to the sounds of mother nature calling you to remember who you are. You are a part of her, as she is a part of you. Spend time with your pets and feel your stress evaporate as you stroke there fur, listen to their purr or watch their tail wag. Fill your bird feeders and marvel as you observe the miracle of flight. Connect with the rocks, the stones and pebbles. They are the witnesses of millennia gone by and hold great wisdom. Make a fire at night and feel its warmth as the cool evening air begins to prickle your skin. Gaze at the celestial dome overhead and imagine the civilizations who came before guided by the same stars, moon and planets. Take the time to benefit from the gifts of the dog days of summer and nourish yourself in all the abundance that nature has to offer you.
