Happy New Year! What have you envisioned for 2023?

Many use this time of year to re-imagine the next chapter of their lives, whether it’s to live happier and healthier lives, or to work in a way that is more fulfilling, freeing and creates a positive impact.

While these may seem like very diverse goals, the path to achieving them boils down to one thing — inner transformation.  Many of us have heard that to change the world around us, we must first change ourselves… ‘be the change’. But, how many really take this to heart?

Let’s face it, changing ourselves can be pretty challenging and even a bit scary. What we normally do instead is try to change the things, people, and circumstances around us. The result is a ton of energy spent with little positive outcome, if any.

The good news is that if we truly commit to changing ourselves, all aspects of our outer world shifts. It’s like a domino effect…improve our health, we have more energy and are better able to focus, which in turn affects our work. Focus on our leadership and improving our relationships at work, our relationships at home improve, and so on. When we work on self improvement, we gain more clarity and confidence, and inspiration flows freely.

So what is it that you want for yourself in 2023?

Is it a new work path, where you can follow your heart to a life spent helping others and making a living on your own terms? Maybe it’s a time of personal and spiritual development for you? Or, perhaps you would like to become a better leader at work, in your community or within your family? Regardless of the desired outcome, the fundamental principles for all transformation are the same.

These four principles include:

I. ALIGNMENT

To make space for new possibilities and to step into your greater potential, it’s important to begin by letting go of limiting beliefs, patterns and even relationships that no longer serve your mission, while cultivating empowering ones that do.

Inner alignment is the practice of intentionally influencing one’s thoughts, emotions and actions towards positive outcomes. Cultivating inner alignment and self care helps each individual manage stress, foster resilience and harness their potential.

When we focus on improving our own level of motivation and engagement, we begin to create a ripple effect of positive change in the people around us. When we embody joy, purpose, and a sense of peace in our day-to-day personal and professional lives, this becomes a powerful example for others.

To realize a new path for our work and life, we need to become aligned with the vision of that path.

II. PURPOSE

To realize a new path for your work and life, it’s key to understand your life purposes, and what it is you’re here to learn and share. This is true for people of all ages and stages of life. Through deep self discovery, you define the area where you most thrive – your ThriveZone.

Your ThriveZone is like a blueprint of your life’s path. Decoding it helps us to answer life’s important questions like: “What brings meaning to my life? Where do I most thrive? How do I best express myself?”, and much more.

When life is in-sync, we’re living our purpose, sharing our gifts and the lessons we’re here to learn and teach others. We are able to move from feeling worried, stuck and overwhelmed, to unleashing our most radiant life!! By decoding our ThriveZone, we begin integrating our passions, unique talents, training and experience (personal and professional) to live our full potential.

III. VISION

Imagining a new vision that’s rooted in your ThriveZone and charting a path to realizing it, helps you to focus your time and effort to ensure you achieve your goals.

A clear vision goes far beyond a simple vision board. It’s a view of the future and your place in it. Your vision concentrates your efforts to attract the right people so you can use your time, money and other resources most efficiently and effectively.

Many would-be or new entrepreneurs say their vision is simply to make money or to help others. These are not visions, but rather the by-product of one. A vision describes your greatest aspirations — what you see as your unique contribution to the world. It’s your ‘why’… the reason for your being and doing. Your vision is your summit atop life’s mountain. It is the end-point that determines the steps you will take as you plan, build and launch your business or community venture.

When you share a clear vision with the members of your community – the people who know and support you on a regular basis – they will rally behind you to find your ideal clientele. If your vision is unclear, it becomes more difficult for your community to support your enterprise.

IV. MASTERY

Through a continual process of evaluating, learning, and improving, you take concrete steps toward mastery, becoming the leader and mentor, sharing your wisdom and experience with those who are at an earlier stage in the process.

Mastery is usually defined as being highly skilled in a certain area of work or life. Self-Mastery takes this to the next level. To be the Master of your own Self is to fully understand who you really are. It is a discovery of the Guru within, the inner guidance system. It means taking full responsibility for your own life.

Self-mastery is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. We need to become a master of our internal world to create whatever we desire in the external world. Developing inner success is essential to a good life.

Mastery in this sense doesn’t mean to control in a negative way; it’s the realization that you are a co-creator with the Universe, and that you and everything around you flows harmoniously together in the magnificent dance of your own creation.
