The first signs of autumn – cooler evenings and back-to-school ads – trigger childhood memories of starting a ‘new year.’ Even as adults we associate fall with a fresh start after a few months of greater outdoor living and relaxation. Many of us dream at the tail end of summer about how we might change jobs – or even start a whole new career – as we imagine ways to escape 9-to-5 routines to do more of what inspires us.
Living an Inspired Life Requires Vision and Clarity of Purpose
A clear Vision goes far beyond a simple vision board. It’s a view of the future and your place in it. Your Vision concentrates your efforts to attract the right people so you can use your time, money and other resources most efficiently and effectively.
When you share a clear Vision with the members of your community – the people who know and support you on a regular basis – they will rally behind you to find your ideal clientele. If your Vision is unclear, it becomes more difficult for your community to support your work.
A Vision describes your greatest aspirations — what you see as your unique contribution to the world. It’s your ‘why’… the reason for your being and doing. Your Vision is your summit atop life’s mountain. It is the end-point that determines the steps you will take as you plan, build and launch your career, business or community venture.
A Clear Vision is Rooted in Your Purpose
Aligning with your true Purpose can change how you look at your world and what you attract into it. This is how you align with your peak potential.
According to a study done at Carlton University, having a clear Purpose in life is an indicator of healthy aging and longevity, no matter what time you find it.
But, uncovering one’s Purpose requires a lot of self knowledge and insight. Many people don’t know or haven’t spent much time thinking about who they really are and what they want in life. To discover our unique Purpose requires examining our strengths, passions, professional and personal experiences and unique ways of creating and working.
But knowing oneself is not enough to determine our Purpose…we also need to define who it is that we are uniquely here to serve…what problem can we help solve, maybe better than anyone else?
Over the past ten years I have developed a proprietary approach to help individuals identify their true Purpose and create a Vision for their work and life. You can learn more by checking out this FREE Webinar: The 4 Principles for realizing your highest potential in your work and life!
