Raising Kids who will Follow their Dreams and Change the World
Valerie Redmond is an author and teacher on a mission to encourage children to believe in their dreams and realize that they can make the world more beautiful! She has worked in Kenya training teachers and developing income-generating projects for women. She has an Honors degree in Law from Carleton University and teaching certificates from the Toronto Montessori Institute. Valerie is presently touring elementary schools with her book, Emma and the African Wishing Bead. All of Valerie’s books benefit charities that educate children. Half the profits of this book go to the Canadian Harambee Education Society (CHES), an organization that provides secondary school scholarships to girls in Kenya and Tanzania. Valerie’s next book, Harry and the Mystical Junkyard, is due to be published in 2015. It benefits the Pure Art Foundation.
Valerie is available for school visits from Kindergarten to grade six. She is also available for library visits. Her current presentation includes making your own wishing beads!
